Scholarship and Grant Information
The South Dakota Society of Professional Land Surveyors (SDSPLS) offers a wide array scholarships, grants, and opportunities to not only help promote Land Surveying as a profession to students and support members on their path to professional licensing, but to also aid members in need.
Scholarships are available for students attending both two-year and four-year institutions, through the South Dakota Scholarship and the R. Turner Scholarship, respectively. In addition, SDSPLS members taking additional courses as they work towards licensure may apply for Tuition Reimbursement Grants.
Unfortunately, there are times when we may experience difficulties in our lives due to a family crisis or other emergency. Members needing temporary financial support are encouraged to apply for a Member Hardship Grant either for themselves or on behalf of another member. The SDSPLS family is here to help support you in your time of need!
See below for all of these and other opportunities!
The Trig-Star Program Contest is an annual high school mathematics competition sponsored by the National Society of Professional Surveyors and SDSPLS based on the practical application of Trigonometry. The program recognizes the best students from high schools throughout the nation and helps introduce students to the profession of Land Surveying. Local land surveyors in your community and throughout South Dakota sponsor the Trig-Star contests, at no cost to the participants. Find out more HERE.
